A Cheap Hotel isn't always "Cheap"

Review sites about hotels in Paris don’t always get the difference between an inexpensive hotel and a “cheap” hotel. As anywhere in the world, Paris has it’s fair share of absolutely wonderful AND expensive hotels. On the other side of the coin Paris also has many low class and seedy hotels. When someone is looking for an inexpensive hotel it is often a search for the price and perhaps then the amenities. However, there are other factors to consider:
1. Why is a hotel less expensive? Is it because it is seedy and shares a bathroom to a floor? Does it not have TV or room service? A lot of time an inexpensive hotel that is located in the center of Paris is inexpensive because it provides less services. These might be fine for locals or those used to hostels and backpacking but there is no reason to stay in a hotel like this, regardless of the budget. The most common reason that a good hotel is less expensive than the rest is that it sits outside of the center of Paris.
2. Is the hotel, that is being considered, near any attractions and is it near a Metro line for easy and safe access? An inexpensive hotel should be located near the Metro and Bus lines. Nearby should be attractions that are actually popular. Spending 10-15 minutes to get into the center of Paris is totally acceptable and often a very enjoyable way to expose oneself to the locals and “regular” Paris life. Vacationers often walk away with their most vivid and exciting stories after riding the Metro.
3. Does the hotel offer services that make it complete? What is means is, can you have a comfortable, quiet and enjoyable private stay? Or are you sharing basic amenities like the shower or sleeping room with others? Does it offer breakfast? Does it have TVs? Does it have daily room service? Many inexpensive hotels are in fact “cheap” because they lack one or more basic necessities.
The Hotel Armstrong in Paris provides many amenities up and beyond it star rating. It is also inexpensive. Most guests who stay at the Hotel are pleased with the personal service, the quality of the room upkeep and the extra amenities not normally found in a hotel at this price range.
A Safe and Inexpensive Paris Hotel

Paris can be a very expensive city to travel to and visit. One of the biggest expenses is the accommodations expense. Here are some tips to finding a comfortable and safe hotel in Paris:
1.If traveling with more than one person. Share a hotel room. Find a
hotel that allows two or three individuals to a room and has beds for
each. The rate for the room will be more affordable if split between
each of the travelers.
2.A hotel that is clean, safe and comfortable will make visiting Paris
a much more enjoyable experience. Choose a hotel carefully by balancing
price, available amenities and comfort. Decide whether traveling a few
extra minutes to attractions is worth saving money and having enjoyable
accommodations.
3.First search for a hotel that you can afford. Look for reviews of the
hotel by other travelers. These are often honest and give great
insights about what to expect. Make sure to compare prices in the Hotel
Booking engines but check at the Hotel Website for rates as these are
often less expensive.
4.Make sure the hotel has free WIFI, an extra 10 euros a day for WIFI
makes the hotel more expensive. Make sure you have an in-room safe to
store your belongings and laptop.
5.Book your hotel in advance. Booking 3 to 4 months in advance is good
because you get rates when the hotel isn’t booked up making them
cheaper.
Our hotel, the Hotel Armstrong is a wonderful and comfortable hotel.
